THE LIGHT OF TRUTH REVEALS KYREN LACY’S INNOCENCE

Ajay Allen - October 4, 2025

In December 2024, a serious collision on Highway 20 in Louisiana resulted in the death of 78 year old Herman Hall. Authorities later suggested that Kyren Lacy, a former LSU wide receiver and NFL prospect, had been passing other vehicles unlawfully, forced another car to swerve, and then fled the scene. He was accused of negligent homicide, felony hit and run, and reckless operation of a vehicle.

A grand jury hearing was scheduled for April 2025. Tragically, on April 12, 2025, just one day before he was to appear, Lacy died by suicide. Because he died before the hearing, the grand jury never formally considered the evidence against him.

Since his death, Lacy’s legal team led by attorney Matt Ory has presented new video and surveillance footage that challenges the original narrative.

According to Ory, the footage shows that at the moment of the fatal impact, Lacy’s car was 72.6 yards behind the crash, traveling in his proper lane, rather than weaving ahead of the vehicles as investigators initially claimed. Additionally, body camera footage reportedly shows a state trooper instructing a witness how to complete a report, raising questions about the integrity of witness statements. Ory has also pointed to gaps in the original investigation, noting that the district attorney’s report concluded that evidence did not support that Lacy should have known his actions caused the crash. Supporters of his innocence argue that the strongest evidence so far suggests Lacy was not responsible for the collision.

Kyren Lacy was innocent, and the evidence that has surfaced since his passing makes that clearer than ever. He did not cause the fatal crash, and the truth should have been allowed to come out while he was still here to defend himself. His life was more than headlines and accusations, and the way his story was cut short will always be a tragedy. From the Field Rush team, we send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who loved him. His name deserves to be remembered with respect and honor.

This story is still being developed.
